Privacy Policy
What chicagomechanicalpolishing.com collects, how it is used, and your rights. Last updated May 23, 2026.
1. Who We Are
Chicago Mechanical Polishing (the "Operator," "we," "us") operates the intake at chicagomechanicalpolishing.com. The Operator coordinates polishing quote requests and forwards them to independent third-party service providers ("Providers"). This policy explains what personal information is collected through that intake, how it flows, and how to exercise your rights over it.
2. Information We Collect
When you submit the quote intake form, we receive the information you provide directly: your name, business email, phone number, company (optional), service type selection, state and ZIP code, material and finish specification, target turnaround, and the free-text project details you choose to share. When you call the published phone number, the carrier may record metadata about the call (date, duration, originating number).
Like most websites, chicagomechanicalpolishing.com automatically receives technical information when you visit: IP address (which generally reveals approximate city-level location), browser type and version, operating system, the referring URL, and pages viewed. This is captured through standard web-server logs and any analytics tags the site loads.
3. How We Use It
The Operator uses the form data to: (a) confirm receipt of your inquiry; (b) forward your contact details and project specification to one or more Providers whose stated capabilities appear to match; (c) follow up on the status of your request; (d) maintain records required for tax, accounting, and dispute-resolution purposes; and (e) improve the intake flow based on aggregate patterns (e.g., which service types are commonly requested).
Technical / log data is used to operate and secure the site, detect abusive traffic, and produce aggregated analytics. The Operator does not sell personal information; the Operator does share form contents with Providers solely so the Provider can respond to your request, as described in Section 4.
4. Who Receives Your Information
Your form contents are routed to one or more Providers whose accreditation and capability scope match your stated specification. Once a Provider receives your information, the Provider's own privacy practices govern any further use of that information by that Provider; you may wish to review the Provider's privacy notice before further communication. We also share information with the limited categories of third-party processors necessary to operate the site, including a hosting provider, an email-routing provider, the published phone-number carrier, and form / spam-filtering services. We do not sell personal information.
We may disclose information when required by valid legal process (subpoena, court order, or comparable instrument), to investigate suspected fraud or abuse against the site, or in connection with a corporate sale or restructuring (in which case any acquirer would be bound to the commitments in this policy).
5. Cookies and Tracking
chicagomechanicalpolishing.com uses functional cookies necessary for the site to operate (for example, to remember disclosure-element state). The site may also load analytics tags that set first- or third-party cookies; the analytics provider's policy controls those cookies. You can clear or block cookies via your browser settings; doing so may degrade site functionality but does not prevent submission of the intake form.
6. Data Retention
Intake form submissions are retained for as long as the inquiry is active and for a reasonable period afterward to support reference checks, dispute resolution, and tax / accounting recordkeeping, typically up to seven years. Server access logs are retained on a rolling 90-day basis. You can request earlier deletion at the contact address below; we will honor the request unless a specific legal obligation requires us to retain the data longer.
7. Security
The intake form is submitted over HTTPS. Stored submission data is held on access-restricted infrastructure. No system is perfectly secure, but the Operator follows reasonable, industry-standard precautions to protect the information you provide. You should not send sensitive information (account passwords, payment card data, government-issued identifiers, classified or export-controlled drawings) through the intake form; the form is intended for a project specification, not for confidential financial or regulated data.
8. Your Rights
You may request: (a) confirmation of whether the Operator holds personal information about you; (b) a copy of that information; (c) correction of inaccurate information; (d) deletion of the information (subject to retention obligations described above); and (e) restriction of further processing. Reach the contact address below to exercise any of these rights. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law.
9. California Residents (CCPA / CPRA)
California residents have the following rights, in addition to those above: the right to know what categories of personal information have been collected and the categories of recipients; the right to delete personal information (subject to listed exceptions); the right to opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information; the right to non-discrimination for exercising these rights. The Operator does not sell personal information for monetary or other valuable consideration. The Operator does share form contents with Providers as described in Section 4; if you wish to opt out of that sharing, do not submit the intake form (or contact us before we forward the inquiry).
10. Other U.S. State Privacy Laws
Residents of Colorado, Connecticut, Virginia, Utah, Texas, Oregon, and other states with comprehensive privacy statutes may have rights similar to those described in Sections 8 and 9. The contact address below is the channel for exercising any state-law right.
11. Children
chicagomechanicalpolishing.com is a business-to-business service intake. It is not directed to children under 16, and the Operator does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If a child has submitted information through the form, a parent or guardian can request deletion at the address below.
12. International Visitors
The Operator and its processors operate primarily in the United States. By submitting the form, you understand that your information will be processed in the United States, which may have different data-protection rules than your country of residence.
13. Changes to This Policy
The Operator may update this policy. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date at the top. Your continued use of chicagomechanicalpolishing.com after a posted change constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
