Terms of Service
These terms govern your use of chicagomechanicalpolishing.com and any quote intake submitted through it. Last updated May 23, 2026.
1. Nature of Service
Chicago Mechanical Polishing (the "Operator," "we," "us") operates chicagomechanicalpolishing.com as a lead-generation and coordination platform. The Operator does not itself own or run a finishing facility, does not directly polish, electropolish, lap, buff, or otherwise process customer parts, and does not hold finishing-shop accreditations on its own behalf. All actual polishing work is performed by independent third-party service providers ("Providers") that the Operator refers customer inquiries to.
By submitting a quote request, you authorize the Operator to forward your contact information and project details to one or more Providers whose stated capabilities and accreditation scope appear to match your specification.
2. The Providers
Providers are independent businesses. Each Provider sets its own pricing, lead times, acceptance criteria, and contractual terms. A Provider is responsible for performing the polishing work it agrees to undertake; the Operator is not a party to the eventual service contract between you and the Provider.
The Operator performs initial vetting on Providers, typically reviewing publicly stated accreditation scope, finishing capabilities, and business standing, but the Operator does not guarantee the accuracy of any Provider's claims, the suitability of any Provider for a particular project, or the outcome of work that a Provider performs.
3. No Warranty of Service Outcomes
The Operator provides the intake and referral function "as is," without warranty of any kind, express or implied, including without limitation any implied warranty of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, accuracy, completeness, or that a Provider will respond, quote, accept, or perform any specific work. No warranty is made that a finished part will meet a particular surface roughness, flatness, passivation, or accreditation standard; those obligations are owed to you by the Provider, under whatever agreement you ultimately sign with that Provider.
4. Customer Responsibilities
You are responsible for: (a) the accuracy and completeness of the project specifications you submit; (b) confirming, in writing with the Provider, that the Provider's quoted scope, accreditation, surface finish capability, and acceptance criteria match your requirements before authorizing work; (c) ensuring you have authority to share any drawings, specifications, or material data you upload or describe; and (d) packaging and shipping parts to and from the Provider in a manner reasonable for the part value.
Industry-specific compliance (including FDA, FAA, ASME BPE, SEMI, ITAR / EAR export control, and any customer-specific quality system requirements) is the customer's responsibility to specify on the quote intake and to confirm in the Provider's acceptance.
5. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, the Operator's aggregate liability arising out of or related to your use of chicagomechanicalpolishing.com and the referral function, whether in contract, tort, statute, or any other theory, shall not exceed one hundred U.S. dollars (US$100). In no event shall the Operator be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, punitive, exemplary, or lost-profit damages, including without limitation damages arising from delayed turnaround, missed production deadlines, rejected lots, scrap, rework, or any claim brought by the customer's own end customer.
6. Indemnification
You agree to indemnify and hold harmless the Operator, its officers, employees, contractors, and affiliates from any claim, demand, loss, or expense (including reasonable attorneys' fees) arising out of: (a) your breach of these terms; (b) inaccurate or incomplete specifications you submit; (c) any dispute between you and a Provider; and (d) your use of any finished part in a manner inconsistent with the Provider's stated acceptance criteria.
7. Intellectual Property
All content, layout, copy, logos, and code on chicagomechanicalpolishing.com are owned by the Operator or its licensors and are protected by U.S. and international copyright, trademark, and other intellectual property laws. You may view the site and print copies for your own internal reference; you may not republish, scrape, mirror, or commercially exploit the content without prior written permission.
8. Acceptable Use
You agree not to use chicagomechanicalpolishing.com to: (a) submit false or misleading project specifications; (b) attempt to overload, probe, or attack the site's infrastructure; (c) scrape or harvest Provider information for resale or competitive use; (d) impersonate another person or business; or (e) violate any applicable export-control, sanctions, or trade-secret law.
9. Third-Party Links
chicagomechanicalpolishing.com may link to third-party websites (including Provider websites) that the Operator does not control. The Operator is not responsible for the content, policies, or practices of any third-party site, and the inclusion of a link does not imply endorsement.
10. Modifications
The Operator may modify these terms at any time by posting a revised version at this URL. Your continued use of chicagomechanicalpolishing.com after a posted change constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
11. Governing Law and Forum
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, without regard to its conflict-of-laws principles. Any dispute arising under these terms shall be brought exclusively in the state or federal courts located in Cook County, Illinois, and you consent to the personal jurisdiction of those courts.
12. Severability
If any provision of these terms is held unenforceable, the remaining provisions remain in full force and effect, and the unenforceable provision shall be construed as narrowly as necessary to make it enforceable.
